Writing Motivation

Hello again everyone. I wanted to share something with you that I thought came out well. Over on Reddit, I follow a bunch of writing groups and sometimes writing motivation images come up. Well one night many months ago this one came up and it asked for a three word response.

Well, I did come up with three words, but I also came up with a fun, tiny story. Below is what I came up with. I call it, “Gods Shouldn’t Drink”.

It wasn’t my best night, sure. Assuming human form and getting into a drinking contest with Shunto, the town’s reigning champion of all things, was arrogance. I know that now and honestly, I got carried away. Shunto and I drank the bar’s Sake dry. I underestimated the limitation of my human form and started to succumb to the alcohol.

After all the sake had been drank, Shunto had praised me and the next thing I knew we were sitting at the base of a waterfall not far from the town. In a moment of drunken weakness and perhaps vanity, I confessed to him that I was one of the old gods. He laughed at me initially, but then he thought about how not only was I able to drink as much as he did, but that I also tied him in arm wrestling as well as splitting bamboo trees with our katanas.

“Prove it.” He said to me challengingly. “Show me something only a god could do.”

Well, here poor Amaya and I sit. What the hell was I thinking merging an elephant and a turtle? Shunto was so surprised that he vomited up the nights challenge and then pledged his loyalty to me. He insisted on coming with me and is currently sleeping off the evenings events. Dammit I need to stop drinking.
