New Project: Theatre of Death

Greetings everyone! I hope you are all doing well today! I am so very excited to announce my involvement in a new project, Theatre of Death, which is being described as a Post Apocalyptic Urban Brawler video game. The game is currently under development and is being developed by Hordur Valsson in Denmark. There is a temporary website up currently, which you can see here. That website and it’s domain will change as the game develops.

How did I get involved in this you ask? Well, I saw this post in one of the Reddit groups that I am in about someone looking for assistance in writing a back story for their video game. They had given a very basic premise of the game and after reading it, I had some ideas. I reached out to Hordur and we started chatting. After three revisions, we landed on a version that Hordur really liked, so here we are. What is the game about? I am glad you asked. Here is the one sentence pitch that I was given:

Theatre of death is a prophetic tale of what will come to pass unless we change our human ways.

About | Theatre Of Death

The discussion we had was what if humanity had reached a utopia like society, but like most science fiction, not everyone wants to live in a utopia? This struggle leads to both cyber and physical war. That war coupled with the irreparable damage that we have caused to the planet reaches a fever pitch and scars the planet. Civilization suffers and it’s progressed is thrust backward. Resources are becoming scarce due to the damage we have caused. Technology is almost impossible to maintain and the survivors of the great war are split into two factions. Each have decided it’s time for action and plan to overthrow the other.

Based on that discussion, I started working on a backstory. Now it’s worth noting that everything is in flux, so many things could change, but for now this is where the game is at. It is exciting for me to be able to work on a project like this as it gives me a chance to not only work in a different medium, but also focus on character study as well as post apocalyptic themes. Here is a link to the backstory that I wrote. Please do head over and take a look.

I would like to give a big THANK YOU, to Hordur for including me in this project. My involvement write now is simply for back story, but could include some additional character development. I am excited to share with you all where this leads and will provide those updates as they develop.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you have a great day. 😁
