December 2021 Updates

Happy Holidays everyone! If the holidays are your thing, I hope that you are having a great season. I am doing well, thank you for asking. That’s so kind of you to do. What I have been up to? Well, I was in a little bit of a funk after writing my NaNoWriMo challenge, The Death of a Rose Tree (title undecided). That story drudged up a lot of memories for me and forced me to revisit them, which was admittedly very difficult for me, but all funks must end, so tonight, I dusted off my short story anthology, About Time, Angels, Nightmares and Other Stories (also a title undecided) and it felt good to get back to writing. As of tonight, I am rapidly approaching 78,000 words and I am certain that by the time I finish the second drafts of two of the stories, I will have exceeded 80,000, which I think is a good length.

I just hope that the two publishers that I spoke with back in September are still interested. If not, I know a few that I can shop it around to. If it gets rejected, well, that just comes with the territory of wanting to be a writer, so I am prepared for that. My wife and I were also discussing turning three of the stories into radio plays and submitting them to a few podcasts, which I am looking to do once this anthology is done. The good thing is that I already have them written out as screenplays, to converting them to radio play format shouldn’t be too challenging. I am also planning on writing an original radio play for the Grey Rooms podcast in the hopes of being accepted for Season 5. My story that I submitted for Season 4, which ended up getting accepted for their premium subscription podcast, The Bane Podcast, has yet to release, but I am hopeful it will be in January of February. They release one per month, so I will let you all know when that is available. It is only for paid Patreon subscribers, so it would cost you $6 in order to listen to it.

Other than the above, that is all that is going on with me. I am working on getting out of the rut the NaNoWriMo story put me in and trying to refocus to complete the anthology so I can do the radio plays. Then from there, it’s back to the next novel, House of Grim (title also undecided). I hope you all have a great rest of the year. I wish you and yours happiness and health as we head into the new year. Until the next post, keep reading, smile more and remember not to be so hard on yourself when you’re feeling blue (that’s for both of us 😉

Take care.
