Two Stories Selected

Hey there everyone! I trust this post finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to share some very exciting news. Last month I submitted two short stories and one podcast radio play for consideration in two separate short story anthologies and one podcast, respectively and while one of the short stories was not selected, the other story and radio play were selected!

The short story, Eternally Yours, was selected for a horror anthology of short stories that Scare Street is putting together. They haven’t given me the timeline for when it will be published, but I’ll be sure to post an update about that once I know more. The story centers around a young man named Leon who recently moved into a new house that is haunted by the ghost of a woman. She tells Leon that in his previous life, he was named Isaac and they were lovers. Together they had concocted a plan to run away and be together forever, but something went wrong, and she is stuck in that hour now for eternity. In order to move on, Leon needs to help her finish was she and Isaac started so many years ago. The story challenges Leon to see just how far he will go for love. Here is the pitch I gave Scare Street.

Leon has been arrested and recounts his story to a psychiatrist about how the ghost of his true love from his past life has found him and asked for his help to set her free. The story will recount how the two met in their past life and how their deadly attempts to be together forever failed. Now Leon is her only hope to finish what they started in Leon’s past life.

Initially, they short-listed the story pending some requested edits and I am very happy to tell you that they liked the edits I made and will be using the story. This is the second time I have submitted to Scare Street and it’s feels great to have had a story chosen this time around.

Next up, is the radio play that I wrote. Last year I wrote a radio play for season four of The Grey Rooms podcast, which is a collection of short horror stories with an overarching story line. For last year, my story wasn’t selected for their Grey Rooms podcast, but it was selected for production in their Patreon only, premium tier podcast called, Bane. That episode has yet to air and should sometime over the next several months. I haven’t been told which month yet, but back in April of this year, I submitted another radio play idea for consideration in Season 5 and they selected my story to be one of their episodes!

This story is about how Reginald comes home one night to find a black envelope laying on the floor just inside of his door. Upon opening the letter, all of this black powder pours out staining his hands. Inside is a collection of folded papers with a note attached that says, Actions have consequences.

The pages inside contain all sorts of terrible troll posts that Reggie has made online. The events that follow ripple out all around him threatening everything he holds dear. I cannot wait to hear that story brought to life! I will be sure to let you know when that comes out next year.

I will have some news on my short story anthology in the coming weeks as well, so if you haven’t already enabled email updates yet, please consider doing that. Thank you all for taking the time to read this post and for your continued support. Take care.
